Once upon a time I was a weird and nerdy kid with a taste for World War II history and Larry Hama's GI Joe comic books. Then I got into Tom Clancy, Larry Bond, Stephen Hunter, Robert Heinlein, and so on. I still have a bit of a book hoarding problem.To make a long story short, I then walked into a recruiting office and spent several years being much cooler than I am now, while abusing my liver and tearing up my knees.

A 1995, no, 1996, not quite, okay, finally, a 1998 graduate of the University of Mississippi, he went on to the US Army Infantry School at Fort Benning, Georgia and a variety of assignments in Korea and at Fort Campbell, Kentucky for the next decade. He then reused experiences in Korea, Kosovo, and Iraq (twice!) while completing his Master's in Military History through Norwich University in 2012."
